Although this ancient ruin is
thought to have been built by a devout hermit it may not be a hermit's
beehive cell but just an old enclosure used for animals. Nevertheless
it's worth the scramble, navigating the marches and scouring the map to
try to find it!!
The small oval building is
about 21' by 15'. The name on the Ordinance Survey Map 1st edition means
"House of the Culdees" but it was also known as "Cabhan Cuildeach" which
means "the Culdee's Cell".
