Iona Abbey’s museum is housed
in a restored building that may once have been an infirmary.
There is a wonderful
collection of carved stonework including early Christian grave-markers,
high crosses and later medieval West Highland grave slabs.
Of particular note is St
John’s Cross - an8th-century high cross which originally stood in front
of the abbey.
